Aperol Spritz
Italy's favorite aperitivo. The vibrant orange Aperol, sparkling prosecco, and a splash of soda make this the ultimate pre-dinner drink.
01 Ingredients
02 Method
Fill a large wine glass to the brim with ice cubes.
Pour in the prosecco first to preserve the bubbles.
Add the Aperol.
Top with a splash of soda water.
Stir gently once with a bar spoon.
Garnish with a fresh orange slice.
Aperol Spritz: The Drink of the Italian Summer
The Aperol Spritz is the unofficial drink of Venice’s bacaro culture — those tiny cicchetti bars along the canals where locals gather for ombra (a small glass of wine) after work.
The 3-2-1 Formula
Professionals use the 3-2-1 ratio: 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, 1 part soda. This keeps the Aperol’s bitterness in check while maintaining its beautiful sunset color.
