Cookies and local storage
This site uses no cookies. This page explains exactly what analytics stores in your browser's local storage, which third parties can receive your IP, and how to block it if you prefer.
Last reviewed: 2026 — still missing the controller's details and confirmation of the exact key written by analytics.
Leer en español01 The one-line summary
This site uses no cookies. There are no
first-party cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies
and no social media cookies. Analytics works with an anonymous
identifier stored in your browser's local storage
(localStorage), which identifies no one.
That is unusual on the web, which is why it is spelled out here: what exactly is stored, what for, which third parties can see your IP address, and how to stop it if you prefer.
04 What analytics stores in your browser
I use a self-hosted Umami installation at
u.prozacdigital.com to count visits. Umami stores an
anonymous, randomly generated session identifier in your
localStorage, with a short inactivity lifetime.
- That identifier contains no name, email, IP address or advertising profile.
- It exists so that the same visit is not counted twice within one session, and to know how many distinct visits a page receives.
- It is not shared with third parties and is not used for advertising or to recognise you on other websites.
- It builds no profile and takes no automated decisions about you.
Alongside that identifier, only aggregate data is recorded: the page viewed, the language, the device type, the referring site and the approximate country.
| Name / key | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
umami.session (self-hosted instance) |
Local storage, not a cookie | Counting visits anonymously and in aggregate | Refreshed with activity, dropped on inactivity |
| There are no first-party or third-party cookies. No technology on this site identifies people. | |||
TODO_PROPIETARIO: confirm with the analytics provider the exact key name and its lifetime, so this table is literally exact.
05 Third parties that can receive your IP address
Even though this site stores nothing about you, loading a page makes your browser talk to third-party servers. Your IP address — which is personal data — travels with those requests:
| Third party | When | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
Amazonwww.amazon.es (every language currently links to the Spanish store) |
Only if you click an affiliate link | Your IP and browser data, plus the affiliate tracking tag. From that point Amazon acts as an independent controller |
| Cloudflare, Inc. Cloudflare Pages + CDN |
On every request | Your IP and technical data, to serve the site and protect it from abuse, as a processor |
The typefaces are self-hosted on this domain, so they do not appear in this table: loading them sends your IP to no third party.
06 How to block or disable it
You do not need to do anything to browse: there are no cookies to accept. If you would still rather reduce what is stored or sent to third parties, you have these options:
-
Delete the analytics identifier: open your
browser's developer tools (Application or
Storage → Local Storage) and remove the key
from
u.prozacdigital.com, or clear site data from your browser settings. You will stop counting as a returning visitor. - Block analytics: with a script blocker. The site works exactly the same; only aggregate measurement is lost.
- Use private browsing: local storage is cleared when you close the window.
- Do not click the affiliate links: that is the only way to keep Amazon from receiving the request. You can look the same product up directly on its site and pay the same price.
Browsing is not degraded if you block any of these: no essential feature depends on them.
07 Future changes and consent
Today there are no cookies and no pixels, so no consent banner is needed. That changes the moment any technology is added that identifies people or follows them across sites:
- An advertising pixel (for example Meta Pixel or TikTok Pixel) would require a prior consent banner, with a reject option as visible as the accept one.
- An analytics tool that uses cookies or identifies users would have the same consequence.
- An email newsletter needs its own consent and its own notice, and is still forbidden from carrying Amazon affiliate links.
If any of that happens, this policy will be updated before the tool is switched on, not after.
