Add all ingredients to a blender.
Blend on high for 30 seconds until completely smooth.
Pour into a large chilled glass or hollowed pineapple.
Garnish extravagantly with fruit, umbrella, and straws.
The Piña Colada: Puerto Rico’s National Cocktail
Puerto Rico officially declared the Piña Colada its national drink in 1978. The cocktail was invented in 1954 at the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan.
Cream of Coconut vs Coconut Cream
Cream of Coconut (Coco Real or Coco Lopez) is sweet and thick — perfect for Piña Coladas. Coconut cream is unsweetened and will produce a different result.
